ביום האחרון ביקשתי לשאול את הסולטאן באמצעות טאחסין כיצד הוא מתאר לעצמו את ההתיישבות "d'une manière dispersée" ("באורח מפוזר"), אם הממשלה תיתן את האמצעים בידי המתיישבים או שיורשה להקים ארגון, כלומר חברה.

על כך שיגר לי את התשובה שאין זה אלא פרט הנוגע לביצוע. אם לא מסתתר מאחורי התשובה הזאת הרצון לקטוע את השיחה לפעם הזאת, הרי זו פשוט שטות.

ועם זאת אני סבור שהמצב לא רע.
